Its suction was less powerful than other robots but it was still quiet and swift in its movements. It didn't mop and its cleaning pad that was removable was difficult to attach. It also was unable to handle dried-on dirt.
Its app lacks advanced features like multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It is compatible with Alexa however its voice commands aren't clear or responsive. Also, it's a bit flaky when it comes to returning to the charging station following an outing -- other robots can trace a previous path or follow a wall until they reach their destination however, the RX3 simply bumbles around until it quits and sends a message of failure to your phone.
We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, namely its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. While it did a great job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes however, it was easily stuck by socks and cables, and was unable to handle the tassels that adorn rugs. We didn't include the Scout RX3 on our Best Buy list. Still, with a decent price tag and impressive performance it's a Scout RX3 is worth considering in the event you're looking to find an alternative to traditional uprights.
