Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency with which you need to manually vacuum. Choose one that has an easy navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that needs emptying only every few times.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with pets or children. The top performers in our tests offer decent obstacle-avoiding capabilities.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot once it gets full.
Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from hard floors and carpets, and they are very good in getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we tested. It could get stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clean the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it might come across. It's also recommended to keep the bin and filter clean so that they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most crucial feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
robotic vacuum cleaners i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.
In our tests the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting to these services, we were able communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is an automobile. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in many households and can fit perfectly next to the coffee table or shelves where you can move it around like an enchanted wand.
The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to suit the task. It quickly converts from floor vac to handheld vacuum, and then back to floor.
This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments and a Wand clip. This is a big improvement over earlier Dysons, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. The tests conducted by CR show that its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a standard battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. This is enough time to vacuum a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every area. (A second pass usually works). However, this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It was able to pick up all kinds of debris in our testing and often went over the same area multiple times for an extensive clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and the edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, including our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It can get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects because it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is better at maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of features for automation.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard technology to aid in navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides plenty of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and much more. It's easy to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than some of the other models we tested and could be a problem for some shoppers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible through the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you check in on your pets or children while you're away. The dustbin and filter can be cleaned for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps keep the bin clean and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. The robots come with an extra wide cleaning path, and a dustbin that is 2 times larger than other models. This lets them clean the area for longer. They also include two side sweepers that can be used to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and then automatically adjusts the power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that lets you to view a virtual map, control functions, and create schedules. You can also monitor the battery's status and return it to its dock to charge by pressing the button. The app allows you to customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.
The application also allows you to manually steer the robot in the event of need. For instance my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to trip up some of the other robots I've tested. The HRV 425BL, however, continued to move across the border without ever registering the edge. Also, the ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
